Sustainability: Addressing its Complexity In Your Organization

Two 1-Day workshops - Each Offering Systemic Strategies and New Thinking Models
Thursday, March 13 or Thursday, April 17 • 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Come to one or both - each offers diverse strategies
Guzman Hall, Room 301, Dominican University of California

Dominican University's Center for Sustainability and the GreenMBA are sponsoring global systemic thinking expert, Australian Bruce McKenzie, to lead these extraordinary workshops. Jane Lorand, Director of the Center and co-founder of the GreenMBA will be co-facilitating. Bruce led a Biodiesel Roundtable for the California EPA in January and participants raved about the progress they were able to make in a day.

Who are the workshops designed to serve?

• Leaders and managers of organizations
• Agency heads and support staff in water, energy, planning, and waste management
• Business owners and managers
• School district leaders or principals

Climate change, energy and water uncertainty, AB32 carbon reductions, waste, pollution, and EU regulations affecting supply chains are all key sustainability issues. They are complex and turbulent. It is difficult to begin when there are so many interconnected variables changing all the time.

We need a radically new thinking approach to design and implement improvements in these core areas. Experience with these new tools will help implement sustainability, build resilience and trigger innovation. Strategic planning initiatives will get a real boost. Systemic and critical thinking for complexity has emerged in the last decade as a vital resource - and your organization can benefit. (See Harvard Business Review, November 2007, David Snowden)

The cost of the workshops is $225 per day and includes lunch. Fees for these workshops will fund scholarships for the 90 GreenMBA students, in our effort for a Debt-Free Graduation to expedite their impact in the world.
