Lady Penguins get back on track in Women's Volleyball; Pecora Player-of-the-Week

The Dominican Lady Penguins rebounded from two conference losses last week to once again tie for second place in the Cal Pac with wins over Simpson and William-Jessup University this past weekend

Junior Outside Hitter Gabby Pecora had 27 kills and 18 digs and Lorel Grande had 14 kills and 11 digs as Women's Volleyball defeated both visiting opponents in three straight games. Sophomore Setter Brooke Swingle returned from an injury with 8.3 assists per game and a team leading nine service aces. Pecora was named Conference Player of the Week for her performance.

The team's conference record now stands at 8-3 and 8-10 overall with four matches left on the season. The team will host its final home match of the season this Saturday when it hosts Pacific Union College at the Conlan Center. That match will begin at 7:30 p.m. The team's graduating seniors will be honored in a pre-game ceremony by coaches, teammates, family and friends as part of Senior Night.

Men's Soccer goes 2-0 

Dominican Men's Soccer moved into sole possession of second place in the Cal Pac Conference this past week with key wins at home over Cal Maritime and Pacific Union College.

The Penguins were aptly led by their team captains. Senior Forward Brandon Romeo scored three goals with two assists and Senior Midfielder Anthony Urroz got the scoring started with a goal against Pacific Union. Sophomore Midfielder Ryan Vella had a goal and two assists, and was named Conference Defensive Player of the Week. Sophomore Midfielder Shane Huiberts had three goals.

The team's record now stands at 7-4-3 with a 7-2-1 record against Cal Pac opponents. They are two points ahead of third place Menlo and five points behind first-place Holy Names. They visit William-Jessup and Bethany University this week before coming home to face Menlo College on Tuesday, November 4th.

Women's Soccer : Lady Penguins dominate Mills; tie William-Jessup   

Dominican Women's Soccer remains undefeated in conference, following a 5-0 home win over Mills College this past Saturday and a 2-2 tie at William-Jessup.

Against Mills, Freshman Midfielder Ally Tamayo scored two goals and Sophomore Defender Christine Coleman and Sophomore Midfielder Marli Sangervasi each scored. Tamayo would score again in the team's 2-2 tie at William-Jessup on Tuesday with Freshman Forward Julianne Bratsberg scoring the other goal.

The team's record now stands at 10-2-3 with a 7-0-2 record in Cal Pac conference play, giving them 16 points in the standings, still best in the Conference with three matches remaining. Their next home game comes on Tuesday, November 4th as they host Menlo College.
